As a Christian Camp, Ontario Christian Assembly openly espouses a unifying philosophical framework to which all volunteers and staff are committed without reservation. The camp identifies with and is committed to historic orthodox Christianity as expressed by the official Statement of Faith.
Statement of Faith
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who know, love, and glorify one another. The purpose of human life is to glorify and enjoy Him forever.
We believe that God has inspired the words preserved in the Scriptures, the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, which alone constitute the verbally inspired Word of God, which is utterly authoritative and without error in the original writings, complete in its revelation of His will for salvation, sufficient for all that God requires us to believe and do, and final in its authority over every domain of knowledge to which it speaks.
We believe that sin is a reality since the fall, and that sin is pervasive in every human life. Although man is created in the image of God, they are fallen and in need of salvation.
We believe that salvation is available only through Jesus Christ, as revealed in the Gospel. This Gospel requires that we admit to our sinfulness, cling to Christ for salvation, and live a life of obedience to Him. We deny that salvation can be earned by obedience; rather, we believe that it is “by grace we are saved through faith.”
We believe that the church universal is the bride of Christ. We believe that the Kingdom of God is God’s rightful rule over all creation, and is not limited to the church.
We believe that baptism is only the immersion of a believer in Christ.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the birthright of every Christian, and empowers the believer to grow in Christ and holiness (separation from sin).
We believe in the reality and power of prayer.
We believe that truth is absolute, not relative, and that there is a definable Christian worldview.
