Christmas is a day of celebration! A day of reflection. A day of solemnity. A day to weigh the love our God has for each one of us. And when weighed we find that it’s immeasurable and infinite.
Infinite because He could have entered our world shining in His Glory, but lowered Himself to come in meekness. He could have come in power, but came as someone vulnerable, dependent, and weak. He could have come with His full identity which would have resulted in every knee bowing and every tongue confessing but hid Himself until the time was right.
Christmas is a day for family, and fellowship. But it can also be a day of loneliness, and a reminder of people and things in this world that have been lost.
It is also the first spark of the hope we have. That even though everything in this world will eventually be lost, there is a new world coming for the faithful that trust in Him. Where there will be no tears, no sorrow, no pain and only joy!
So as we stand together waiting for that promise to be fulfilled, all of us at OCA want to wish you a joyous Christmas day. The day that reminds us of the Word that became flesh, to make all things new again.
Merry Christmas and many blessings to you and yours!
"The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." – John 1:14
